Hurricane Jeanne affected the Dominican Republic and Haiti in September 2004, causing widespread flooding in both countries. A U.N. Flash Appeal was prepared to help Haiti cope with damage to its main sectors (health, agriculture, education, water and sanitation, etc.), and to aid the population.
