Eliminating stagnant waterWashington, DC, August 23, 2016 (PAHO / WHO).- El Salvador and Panama will be the first two countries in the Spanish-speaking countries of the Americas to observe Mosquito Awareness Week, an initiative promoted by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) to raise awareness and promote actions to combat the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and prevent transmitting diseases such as dengue, chikungunya and zika. These countries will be followed by Costa Rica, Honduras, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.
