Lima, July 24. - The Peruvian Ministry of Health and PAHO/WHO are organizing the face-to-face phase of the "Management of mental health services virtual course" with the aim of strengthening the community mental health services model in the country. Yuri Cutipé, Minsa’s Executive Director of Mental Health, and Andrea Bruni, PAHO's Subregional Advisor on Mental Health, highlighted that the strengthening of regional coordinators’ capacities will enable the delivery of community mental health services focused on people.
The course featured prominent specialists such as Dr. Víctor Aparicio, academic coordinator of the course and PAHO/WHO former mental health advisor in Central America, Alberto Minoletti, psychiatrist and former Mental Health Director in Chile, and Alberto Fernández Liria, representative of Manantial Foundation. The experts offered presentations and workshops on evaluation capacities from the perspective of users and human rights, and in terms of mental health care in the Integrated Health Networks.
