Healthy, Safe and Sustainable Diet

A healthy diet is composed of balanced amounts and combinations of natural and safe foods, such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes and food of animal origin. Sustainable food systems use resources efficiently at all stages of production, from the field to the table to produce more food with less water, energy, soil or fertilizer.

In addition, converting waste products like manure and food waste into fertilizer or energy sources increases sustainability.

In turn, consumers can improve their health and contribute to the sustainability by choosing balanced diets, based on homemade natural food and minimizing food waste.
