The mission of the Regional Program on Malaria is to provide support to Member States in advancing their efforts to prevent and control malaria. Its areas of work include implementing the WHO initiative Roll Back Malaria/RBM, training and capacity-building, and national and international RBM activities.


The Report on the Situation of Malaria in the Americas, 2014 is a comprehensive review of the epidemiological situation of malaria of the Pan American Health Organization's member states. Detailed information is provided about the epidemiological trends analyzed from 2000-2014 at the Regional, sub-regional, and country level focusing on the current 21 endemic countries. The report highlights the progress achieved during 2000-2014 as well as describes the challenges that remain as elimination becomes the main goal.
