Washington, DC, 21 April 2017 (PAHO/WHO) -In the framework of the 2017 Annual Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Financing Forum, organized by USAID and the World Bank, held on April 20-21, 2017 in Washington, D.C., the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) coordinated a panel on "Efficiency for Universal health in the Americas". The purpose of the panel was to contribute to the development of a policy framework on health systems efficiency in the Americas.

Washington, DC, 21 April 2017 (PAHO/WHO) - The Instituto Nacional Central Único Coordinador de Ablación e Implante (known by its Spanish acronym as INCUCAI), which reports to the Argentine Ministry of Health, was designated a Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) collaborating center. The purpose of the designation is to join efforts to benefit access, availability, and quality on transplantation for patients who need it.

Washington, DC. March 22, 2017. PAHO engaged on a project with member countries to develop the Regulatory Exchange Portal secure (REPs), an international, collaborative IT (information technology) secured portal for sharing non-public and/or confidential regulatory information about medical products amongst national regulatory authorities. This virtual platform -hosted by PAHO- will ensure effective, traceable, and secure information exchanges fostering cooperative work and trust building across agencies. It will be scalable to accommodate existing and future regulatory initiatives while conforming to stringent data transmission security standards.
