Washington, DC, November 20, 2017 (PAHO/WHO) - From November 13-17, 2017, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) participated at the Fourth Global Forum on Human Resources for Health - Building the health workforce of the future, in Dublin, Ireland. More than 1000 leaders, experts and human resources from around the world joined the Forum to discuss and debate innovative approaches to avert a potential 18 million health worker shortfall.

JFitzgerald-2017Montevideo, Uruguay, October 19, 2017 (PAHO/WHO) - The Health Systems and Services Department from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/HSS) participated in a panel discussion about "Success story on equitable access to essential medicines and technology: Innovative solutions, best practices and lessons learned", at the Global Conference on Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) in Montevideo, Uruguay. 

James Fitzgerald, Director of PAHO/HSS, shared the experience of PAHO Strategic Fund (SF) as an innovative approach to promote access to medicines through pooled procurement mechanisms in the Region.


Washington, September 6, 2017 (PAHO/WHO) - The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) participated in the XVII Meeting of the Ibero-American Network of Donation and Transplantation (known in Spanish as RCIDT), together with representatives of donor and transplant organizations from 19 Latin American countries and representatives from international scientific societies for transplantation, in Buenos Aires, from August 31 to September 1, 2017.
