Regional Core Health Data Initiative. Table Generator System
Welcome to the Table Generator System of PAHO's
Regional Core Health Data Initiative.

The Regional Core Health Data Initiative is one of the main technical efforts of PAHO and its Member States to collect and disseminate health-related data that characterize the health situation of the region.

The database includes a core set of 108 indicators, these are disaggregated (by sex, age groups, etc.) for a total of 216 indicators. Representing information from 48 countries and territories of the Western Hemisphere from 1997 to date, each indicator is defined and accessible through the Indicators Glossary. This glossary also contains technical notes, indicator type (absolute magnitude, proportion, rate, etc.) measurement units, and possible categories and subcategories.

The Table Generator System allows the creation of data tables by indicators, countries, and years. Please read the following general instructions. If you need more details, review the help page carefully.

Some inconsistency between data may occur when different data sources were used.

INSTRUCTIONS.

To generate a table you need to indicate the attribute (Fixed, Rows, Columns) for the dimensions (Year, Indicator, Country). To select the variables, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the dimension value(s) from the menu. Click to highlight the value. To make multiple selections, press the CTRL or SHIFT keys and click n the options. The SHIFT key allows a block of variables to be highlighted, while using the CTRL key you can select variables individually.
  2. You may change the attribute for a dimension by selecting an option in the dimension menu. The options are: Fixed, Rows, and Columns. An option must be selected for each dimension. When a change is made, the system automatically reassigns settings.
  3. The mark in each dimension changes to when the selection is valid and ready to be sent.

Once the table is generated, you can:

  • Generate a new table maintaining the values for the rows and the and the columns, yet select a new value for the fixed dimension.
  • Export the table, by clicking on To export… link. This will generate a table accessible in Microsoft Excel. For more information see: HELP.
  • Print the table, by clicking on To print… link. This will generate a table with a layout appropriate for printing. Automatically divides the table in several narrower tables to facilitate easy printing.
  • Access reference sources for each value or definition for any indicator, by click on the value or indicator name. A window will open containing this information.
