The Regional Disaster Information Center  (CRID)’s mission is to promote the development of a culture of prevention in Latin American and Caribbean countries through the compilation and dissemination of disaster-related information and the promotion of cooperative efforts to improve risk management in the Region.

Looking for more information on pandemic and avian influenza? CRID, the Regional Disaster Information Center, has compiled a substantial amount of material on the topic and is making it available on CD-ROM and over the Internet. The material is organized into three sections:

• Preparedness and response plans from countries in Latin America and other parts of the world; communications tools and strategies for communicating risk; and public information, including frequently asked questions about avian and human influenza—all of which can be downloaded in full-text format.
