José Ángel Córdova Villalobos invited Mirta Roses and other representatives of the Pan American Health Organization to participate in the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-16) to be held next December in Mexican city of Cancun.

Within this framework, a satellite forum on climate change and human health will take place, the Mexican minister said.

He also told the PAHO director that in June Mexico lifted the H1N1 alert and thanked the Pan American Health Organization for all its support in facing the pandemic.

On the other hand, he requested support for a regional meeting on traditional medicine and multiculturalism, to share experiences among countries. Roses reported on the countries that have made advances in that field and can contribute to this exchange between States.

Córdova Villalobos also invited the Argentinian epidemiologist to participate in the second Road Safety Forum in the region to be held in May 2011 in Mexico.
